EXHIBITIONS

The pleasure of making available to the public both objects and knowledge of cultural and natural history is an inspiring and important part of the work of the IK Foundation. The results of IK projects are generally published in book format or displayed in the form of an exhibition - sometimes both. When the subject is deemed to be appropriate and significant, IK also uses other kinds of media to disseminate the results of its work, including seminars, radio, film and the Internet.

The IK Foundation has created and organised exhibitions on natural history and cultural heritage for a wide audience in many countries. Our exhibitions usually derive from an IK project, the IK Collection or a joint venture with some learned body. The exhibitions include permanent displays for museums, temporary exhibitions for a variety of venues, mobile exhibitions and displays set up while field projects are in progress.

The central objective of all IK exhibitions is to create a environment in which knowledge and understanding are supported by good design, ease of access and respect for the objects and items displayed. That applies to both temporary and permanent exhibitions.
