TITLE:
IK Launch Two Web Sites
DATE:
JANUARY 2002
ARTICLE CONTENT:
The
IK WEB SITE - at your service!
When IK launches its web site - www.ikfoundation.org - it will be
the first time that the Internet is used to disseminate information
about the work of IK Foundation & Company. The Internet is ideally
suited to the needs of small organisations that manage cross-border
projects; not only does it facilitate communications between experts
but it is also cost effective.
We use the Internet to reach the people and organisations that are
interested in what we are doing and to reach presumptive partners!
The IK web site was produced in England in the second half of 2001
in collaboration with Aetherweb Ltd from Yorkshire. From day one,
the IK web site will allow visitors to look behind the scenes and
participate in an exciting world of discovery and adventure.
Besides being able to browse through a general presentation of IK
books, exhibitions, projects, collections and portfolios, visitors
can buy books at discount prices in the IK shop - the range of products
will be continually added to and we guarantee fast delivery. To simplify
payment and guarantee credit card security, we have engaged the services
of WorldPay.
The web site is updated every month. Forthcoming services will include
a search function that will allow visitors to browse through our archives
and collections. Current services include the opportunity to obtain
more detailed information in special fact-files, pop-up-windows, downloadable
documents and brochures, press releases, fact-sheets etc.
An
additional web site will be dedicated to the Linnaeus Apostles - Global
Science & Adventure - www.linnaeus.info, one of the most exciting
and extensive projects that IK has ever launched and managed. Visitors
will be able to follow developments as they occur and download information
about Carl Linnaeus and his 17 apostles. Visitors will also be able
to offer their support and sponsor the project. A list of sponsors
will be published and updated regularly.
