The donation of The Linnaeus Apostles Global Science & Adventure to The Royal Society for Swedish Culture Abroad for the dispersal of knowledge and science on an international level.

This donation has the purpose of aiding the representation of Swedish culture abroad through “Sverigekontakt” or the Royal Society for Swedish Culture Abroad. The donation’s primary aim is targeted towards the younger generation who have an interest in Sweden and Swedish Natural and Cultural History. Especially in regions where strong cultural and historical links can be had to Sweden - specifically in North America and the Nordic regions. The undertaking being educational in promoting knowledge and understanding in creating links with schools and institutions with linguistic and cultural connections to Sweden.

The donation amounts to over 100 copies of the 11 volumes which make up the series - valued to more than £70,000.

Lars Hansen, the Head of The IK Foundation stated in conjunction with the donation.

“The Royal Society for Swedish Culture Abroad undertakes fundamentally unique work in building bridges of knowledge between countries and its citizens. This donation continues IK’s long term ambition of boosting knowledge of our shared planet. The IK Foundation’s cooperation with the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003-2015) was a success in reaching over 80 countries - this is the level of ambition for our current global collaboration with the Royal Society for Swedish Culture Abroad. It’s an honour for us that they accepted our donation and cooperation.”
