"Tell me, and I shall forgot.
Show me, and I may remember.
But involve me, and I shall understand"

IK is managed without public funds and thereby relies on its own resources and independent support. However, as a not-for profit organisation with admirable and considerable ambitions, financial support is frequently required. This can be in the form of grants (funding), donations (funds and property), sponsoring (funds and services) and bequests (funds and property). It is for this reason that we say: with your help, we can promote knowledge and make history live.

The latter are not the only methods of helping IK successfully complete projects; other methods include:
  • Buy direct from the IK SHOP or by visiting one of our exhibitions - all "profits" are reinvested in new projects.

  • Supporting a specific project with risk or support capital that is earmarked for that purpose. Once completed the project will generate an income through the sale of an item, service or ticket; it is this income that is used to reimburse the loan. Risk or support capital has a time limit placed on it; these funds, which are loaned by private investors, organisations and companies, do not generate any interest, the profit is measured in the level of participation in important work that creates new knowledge related to a specific subject. As with any type of risk capital investment there is a risk that the investment will not be returned either in part or in full. However it is in IK's interest that this is not the case so we work very hard to ensure that every penny is refunded.
IK Foundation & Company is used to creating and completing important projects within a given timeframe with limited resources. To ensure the best possible use of available funds IK continually works to steer clear of bureaucracy and to ensure that its work is environmentally friendly and financially sound. All project related income is allocated to a specific project - there are no deductions.

IK projects are funded by the organisation's own investments and other sources. Sponsors or risk/support capital investors include private investors, organisations, companies, governments and other foundations. Private individuals and organisations can support IK through the giving of grants (funding), donations (funds and property), sponsoring (funds and services), bequests (funds and property) and risk/support capital.

If you or your organisation are interested in knowing more about how you can support the work of IK please contact Company Secretary Annika Goodwille - confidentiality and discretion are guaranteed.
