MISSION
The IK Foundation & Company's mission is to promote a better understanding of natural history, cultural history and the environment from a variety of perspectives.
By collaborating with other networks - large and small, local and global - we can initiate and manage long-term scientific projects of high quality that are presented in an easily understood and absorbing manner.
In order to assure that products such as publications, exhibitions, films and seminars, are of high and enduring quality, IK has established a global network of prominent experts and organisations.
IK promotes and manages projects that are designed to push back the frontiers of science and, at the same time, be of immediate interest to the general public. As IK is an autonomous organisation that is not ruled by financial, political, religious or governmental constraints, it is able to build unique and independent networks to collaborate on new and important tasks. |

HOW?
For more than two decades, IK has participated in creative research and the dissemination of knowledge in collaboration with numerous organisations, museums, companies, universities and other centres of learning throughout the world. During this time, new and creative networks have helped IK:
- Increase man's understanding through publications, exhibitions, films and seminars.
- Create opportunities for dialogue between the various divisions of society, in respect of knowledge, so as to benefit long-term understanding of our objectives and mission.
- Efficiently, informally and with regard to quality, utilise the opportunities and project resources to successfully start, manage and complete projects within agreed time frames.

| AUTONOMY |
The IK Foundation & Company (IK) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation without religious or political ties. This unique independence coupled with clearly defined goals allows IK to promote and manage high quality projects. Our autonomy allows us to uncover and channel untapped energy in a manner that unites and encourages investments in the search of truth.
When coupled to high quality objectives and long-term thinking, this independence makes it possible to create new and unique investment opportunities. IK's long history of not having to rely on public funding has created a lot of trust amongst many financiers including scientific funds, companies or private people.
The IK organisation is structured to facilitate the making of swift and considered judgements that speed up the decision making process and thereby encourage projects that might otherwise be difficult to complete. |

During the 1990s, the work of IK Foundation & Company took it beyond its traditional Nordic boundaries and today the search for knowledge and information related to natural history, cultural history and the environment crosses all geographical and political boundaries.
IK believes that the dissemination of information about natural history, cultural history and the environment in our fast changing world is more important today than it has ever been.
IK works for long-term results that will reach the widest possible audience. To achieve its knowledge management aims, IK works with research, publications, exhibitions, films and seminars. For these reasons, IK is continually expanding its global network by making contact with new people, organisations and cultures. Discussions include research, production and project funding. A pulsating network of creativity, inspiration, comment, critique and production - the IK world!
