CONTENT: John Bartram's garden and house, visited by Kalm on several occasions during his stay in the Philadelphia area. The present house was extended in the 1770s, but otherwise remains the same as in Kalm's time (1748-51). Bartram's Garden is today run as a historical botanical garden ( www.bartramsgarden.org ).
