TEXTILE HISTORIAN VIVEKA HANSEN

For the duration of three decades the institutor of Textilis, Viveka Hansen has worked as a Textile Historian and independent scholar. The chosen path for her education in textile history is unique, rare and based on a symbiosis of early practical textile training within the Swedish Handicraft Association, theoretical work and academic studies primarily in the humanity subjects. Through the years she has completed further research in various collections around the world, first and foremost in the United Kingdom, the Nordic countries, North America, Euro-Asia and the Arctic area. Added with textile experiments so in the best possible way be able to develop new contexts for questions related to her work.

Since 1990 she works as a Researcher and Editorial Secretary at The IK Foundation – an international, independent learned organisation for promoting Natural & Cultural history.

Wife, mother and grandmother.
